DUI
Driving under the influence has been around a very long time. George Smith, a London taxi driver, was the first person to be convicted of drunk driving, on 10 September 1897.
A good textbook definintion of Driving under the influence (driving while intoxicated, drunk driving, operating under the influence, drinking and driving, drink-driving,impaired driving) is the act of operating any motorized machinery after consuming alcohol or other drugs. DUI or DWI are synonymous terms that represent the criminal offense of operating a motor vehicle while being under the influence of alcohol or drugs or a combination of both.
At our facility we offer a DUI program accredited by the state.
The DUI program is a forensic based program to help give
alternative sentencing to the court system. During the groups other underlying
disorders and issues are addressed. These groups are not just for the court
system. Individuals with anger, addiction and impulse control issues are also
placed in these educational groups.
The cost for the program is $40.00 for a group session. During the groups drug and
alcohol education is given and attempts are made to introduce addicts to AA and
NA, etc... These groups are also available to drug and alcohol offenders.
Our DUI Groups Meeting times in West Chester, PA are:
Saturday 10:00 a.m.
Tuesday 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday 12:00, 5:30 or 6:30.
